About Me
Susan VH Fabian is a research and genetic genealogist at Your Genealogy Journey / Your Genetic Journey specializing in tackling brick-wall problems and adoption cases using DNA. Her regional expertise is in Baltimore City and Maryland State records. Susan holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and is a graduate of ProGen 52, GenProof 71. She participates in several other genealogy study groups. She has taken additional coursework in Genetic Genealogy, Forensic Genealogy, Advanced Search Methods, Teaching, Mid-Atlantic State Research, and Land and Property Research.
Susan sits on the Executive Board of the Maryland Genealogical Society and is the co-host of the Pima County Genealogical Society DNA Special Interest Group. She volunteers her time as a search angel, with Find-A-Grave, and the Maryland State Archives. She has presented classes in research methods, genetic genealogy and doing genealogy volunteer work.
What started as a challenge to find a family member nearly 30 years ago has blossomed into a passion for solving family puzzles which Susan shares enthusiastically with anyone who will listen.
Susan lives in Smithsburg, Maryland with her husband, Tim. When not researching or learning new genealogy techniques Susan can be found reading, crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles or watching vintage tv programs – all with a cat in her lap.
